In Your Ear Studios was founded in 1990 by Carlos Chafin and Robbin Thompson and soon grew into a trusted name for industry professionals.

In 1999, our production complex completed construction, featuring historic Shockoe Bottom architecture and five world-class studios.

In 2026, the company was acquired by longtime IYE audio engineer and producer, Michael Congdon. Congdon expanded the studio to include Creative and Visual services in addition to its audio foundation, giving clients a single solution to full creative audio visual production.

In Your Ear Studios employs a team of highly experienced producers, editors, graphic designers, audio engineers, composers, talent, and support staff.

In Your Ear Studios’ work includes major companies, series, feature films, and music artists. Notable credits include Severance, Chris Brown, and Family Guy.
