IYE is proud to announce its involvement with the brand new animated movie Strange Magic from Lucas Film LTD. Paul Bruski and Terry Stroud spent a day last summer recording dialog for the film with one of its stars Evan Rachel Wood who plays Marianne a princess fairy. Also attending the session patched in from Skywalker Ranch via ISDN and FaceTime was the director Gary Rydstrom, better well known as one of the greatest Sound Designers on the planet. If you have been to a movie in the last twenty years that had amazing sound, Gary probably did it. Gary directed the session, Paul attended to recording Evan's dialog for the film while Terry captured video of her performance so the animators could see her facial expressions while she was delivering her lines. With the story by George Lucas, Strange Magic is a madcap fairy tale musical inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Popular songs from the past six decades help tell the tale of a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion. Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic, which created the CGI animation, bring to life the fanciful forest turned upside down with world-class animation and visual effects. This will be one for the whole family to see.
